How You Can Give

You can make a difference for Denver's homeless and abused animals! Denver Animal Shelter relies on the generosity of community members to help provide the best possible care for the animals that take refuge at our facility. All donations are used to directly help the animals we serve - both at our shelter and in the community: 

  • Animal Care & Enrichment
  • Spay/Neuter Services
  • Emergency Medical Care
  • Community Outreach 
  • Humane Education 
  • Foster Care

Giving Options

Monetary donations help shelter staff purchase food and necessities for the shelter animals.

Denver Animal  Protection (DAP) provides care to more than 12,000 pets each year. DAP operates Denver Animal Shelter (DAS), an open-admissions shelter that is home to nearly 8,700 lost and abandoned pets each year.

 

If you would like to donate to the shelter, you can do so in person or you can mail in your donation to:

Dropping off donations? Thank you! Your donations are invaluable to our homeless pets. Please note, we can ONLY accept:

  • String cheese
  • Plain hot dogs
  • Pet food in original bag
  • Treats in original bag
  • Towels, blankets, dog beds (please no comforters or human pillows. The stuffing is a choking hazard)
  • Kennels
  • New or gently used toys & Kongs
  • New cat scratchers
  • Stainless steel and ceramic food/water bowls
  • Collars and leashes
  • Litter
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pee Pads
  • Small mammals cage bedding
  • Hay
